April 21, 2009 -- Legislative Hearing

Members of the School Finance Network (SFN) testified on April 21st before a legislative committee about flaws in Wisconsin’s school funding laws.

The hearing, held by the Assembly Education Committee, focused on the problems associated with the current educational funding formula, as well as on ways in which the funding formula can be amended to more effectively meet the needs of Wisconsin schools.

Members of the SFN who testified during the hearing included representatives from the Wisconsin PTA, the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators, the  Wisconsin Education Association Council and the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.

Legislators also heard testimony from students, parents, educators, and business leaders from districts all over the state, including Rhinelander, Oconto Falls, Altoona, Pecatonica, and West Allis.
